We’re encouraging every church to participate in our 4-week campaign leading up to Youth Convention, by downloading our STL Campaign Kit below and using the resources provided to encourage your students and leaders in asking God, “What would you have me give to Speed the Light in these next four weeks to tell others about your great love?” We’ve provided a printable faith pledge card for you to launch in your youth service, along with videos of missionaries, slides, and sermon series. We are praying for a miracle offering for a harvest of souls in our missions service on Friday, November 10th.

What is Speed the Light?

The concept is simple: we give so others can speed the light of the gospel to a world in darkness. This is accomplished by providing the "essential transportation and creative communication" equipment for missionary evangelism. Through modern transportation, radio, television, the printed word, and equipment for mass evangelism, our missionaries can better fulfill the Great Commission. Speed the Light (STL) is the student-initiated ministry that provides transportation and communications equipment to missionaries across the nation and in over 150 countries around the world.

HISTORY
STL has its humble beginnings in 1944 when Ralph W. Harris (then head of the NYD), prayed for a way to give A/G youth the opportunity to help missionaries in their work.

Today, STL is one of the most effective missions programs in the church world. Assemblies of God students have accepted a great responsibility to voluntarily raise funds to purchase the equipment. Since its inception, STL has raised a over of $300 million for missionary equipment around the world.

Speed the Light has one guiding principle: All assistance must go to purchase equipment directly related to evangelism ("evangelism" is defined as propagating the gospel and instructing converts). STL equipment has not been nor is presently given for promotion, solicitation, or normal administrative funds.
